How do I create an account?
Registration is currently closed on nicagram. If this server reviews applications, see curated onboarding; otherwise see the instance user limit for what to do next.
How do I update my name, bio or e-mail address?
From your account settings. Your display name, website and bio are on that page; your e-mail address is under e-mail settings.
The username I want is taken but looks inactive. What can I do?
Add an underscore, a dash or a number to make it unique. Usernames are not reassigned, including ones belonging to deleted accounts.
Why can I not change my username?
This is federated software. Other servers in the network identify you by your handle, and not all of them can follow a rename, so renaming is not allowed. If you need a different username, create a new account with it — and see account migration, which can bring your followers across.
I got an e-mail saying I created an account, and I did not.
Somebody probably typed your address by mistake. Ask the admins from the contact page to remove it from that account.
I cannot register because an account with my e-mail address already exists.
You may have registered before, or somebody used your address by mistake. The admins can sort it out.
